The Church
The Fort Logan church is a group of Christians that have mutually agreed to work together in our community and in the world to do the work that God has given us to do. We believe the Bible is the authoritative revelation of God, that it reveals a God who is unconditionally committed to us, that He is gracious, and uses His great power to empower us. We believe that the Bible reveals that the only appropriate response to such a God is confident trust, or faith in Him. This faith in Him evidences itself in our submitting our wills to His.
We are simply Christians, disciples, or followers of Christ. We are not affiliated with any denomination. It is not because we feel that we are better than others, but because denominational affiliations seem to be contrary to the spirit of unity that Jesus prayed for (John 17:11) and died to procure (Ephesians 2:14-19). We are to preserve this unity through humility, gentleness, patience and tolerance with one another (Ephesians 4:2-3). While we describe ourselves as a “church of Christ” we mean this in the most general sense. We do not mean to affiliate ourselves with any denomination with this designation. We mean only to identify ourselves as belonging to Christ and by implication to all others who belong to Him.
“We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). Having been saved by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9) and transformed by it (Titus 3:3-7) it is now our mission to share His grace with others. To this task we humbly and willingly give ourselves, our time, our skills and our finances.
